Solipso is an AI-powered journaling application that helps you gain self-insight through reflective writing and Socratic questioning. The service includes:

• A private journal for your personal entries
• AI-generated reflections using the Socratic method
• Pattern and insight detection to help you understand recurring themes
• Optional end-to-end encryption for maximum privacy

3. Important Disclaimers

Not a Mental Health Service

Solipso is not a substitute for professional mental health care. Our AI provides reflective questions and observations based on your writing, but it is not therapy, counseling, or medical advice.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or need professional support, please contact a qualified mental health professional or emergency services immediately.

Nature of AI Responses

The AI reflections provided by Solipso are generated by artificial intelligence and may not always be accurate, appropriate, or helpful for your specific situation. The Socratic method involves asking challenging questions—these are intended to promote self-reflection, not to judge or criticize you.

No Guarantee of Results

While many users find value in reflective journaling, we cannot guarantee any specific outcomes or improvements in your wellbeing from using Solipso.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You agree to:

• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

If you enable zero-knowledge encryption, you are solely responsible for maintaining your recovery key. We cannot recover your encrypted data if you lose access to your password and recovery key.

5. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all journal entries and content you create on Solipso. By using our service, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store your content on our servers (or IPFS if encryption is enabled)
• Process your content with AI to generate reflections and insights
• Display your content back to you within the application

We will never sell your content, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it to train AI models.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Solipso to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
• Use automated systems or bots to access the service
• Resell or redistribute the service without authorization

7. Intellectual Property

The Solipso service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our written permission.

The AI-generated reflections are provided as part of the service. While you may use these reflections for your personal benefit, you may not commercially exploit or redistribute them.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access to Solipso. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance and updates
• Technical issues or server problems
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our systems.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or engage in conduct that we determine to be harmful to the service or other users.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Solipso and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

This includes, but is not limited to, damages for loss of data, emotional distress, or any decisions you make based on AI-generated reflections.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Solipso and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
